Buccal Face Massage originated in Russia many years ago. This unique face massage is usually a routine to treat the entire face, neck and scalp. The buccal component is an intra-oral technique where the therapist, using gloves, accesses the muscles of the cheek and face by going in the mouth. It may sound odd to have someone massaging in your mouth but many find it very relaxing and satisfying!
You have over 43 muscles in your face alone and everything is connected so your neck, head and posture may all contribute to your symptoms. Everyone is unique so I offer a few options to help address your issues and goals.
✨The Original Buccal Massage uses oil and is 60 minutes. This treatment addresses tension of your neck, face and scalp and goes intra-orally (buccal) to help reduce tension in your cheeks and face. Intra-oral is very effective at treating the muscles of mastication to help address jaw tension. This is a full face routine and I often recommend this as a starting treatment. People who have not had their face massaged before or in a while may find they are sore after their first treatment.
✨Deep Buccal Massage is also 60 minutes and is similar to the Original Buccal Massage but spends more time on your neck and lower face (cheeks) and uses deeper techniques such as active release to engage your face on a deeper level. Some people want to dig right in and start with this treatment but if you're new to buccal massage then I recommend starting the with Original Buccal Massage and adding the Deep Buccal Massage after.
✨The Myofascial Face Massage is a dry skin massage that treats the décolleté, neck and face. Honey massage is incorporated to promote blood flow and lymphatic drainage and oil is used at the end when I go intra-orally (buccal) to address tension of jaw and face. Specific fascia massage can help stimulate type 1 collagen production (Fibroblasts) and hyaluronic acid (fasciacytes) which help to properly lubricate and plump the tissue of your face, creating a healthier cellular environment for movement and function. Most people still start with the Original Buccal Massage but this is a great treatment to start with as well!
✨The Face Massage is a massage great for people not comfortable having fingers in their mouth. I do find this not as effective as intra-oral work but it is still beneficial at addressing face tension. I use oil and treatments are 60 minutes.
🍯Honey Massage is the best thing ever! It may feel a bit uncomfortable but it is amazing at increasing blood flow and circulation and addressing fascia in our face and neck. I can use this in my Buccal Face Massages when requested and I incorporate in my Myofascial Massage.
All treatments end with a hot eucalyptus 🌿towel to promote more blood flow.

What oils do you use to massage my face?
LIVING LIBATIONS BEST SKIN EVER. I carry nearly every oil in this skincare line for you to choose from - Seabuckthorn, Vanilla, Frankincense, Rose, Sandalwood and Immortelle.
These oils are face friendly but do have a scent.
I have Rosehip Seed Oil for those sensitive to smells. All options are face friendly oils but if you have a different preference feel free to bring it with you or message me about it.
Do you use masks, cleansers, or serums in the massage?
NO. Skincare is out of the scope of practice for RMT's. I may cleanse your face prior to any fascial face massage so the skin is dry enough for me work on.
Is make-up okay?
Generally people will want their face clear of make-up (aside from the eyes) prior to treatment. All sunscreens will need to be removed before treatment. I provide a face cleansing wipe if needed.
Are eye lash extensions okay?
ABSOLUTELY. All of my face massages are eyelash extension friendly.
How long should I wait after botox and fillers before I get a face massage?
It is recommended you wait 24 hours post Botox and 6 weeks post fillers. If you want more clarification please reach out to your botox/filler practitioner.
What is your late cancellation/no show policy?
When booking an appointment that time is reserved for your needs as well as the therapist's. Missed appointments are costly, affect other clients from receiving treatment, and they affect the financial health of a therapist. Please allow 48-24 hours to cancel an appointment. Late cancellations under 24 hours and no shows are billed as the treatment booked to the credit card on file.
Are your treatments safe for pregnancy and braces/Invisalign?
YES. Some people choose to wait till they are out of their first trimester. Invisalign can be taken out or left in. These have no effect on my treatment.
